Did Britney Spears really lock lips with Only God Forgives star Ryan Gosling while playing spin the bottle during their Mickey Mouse Club days?
In case you haven’t heard, the acclaimed actor previously told The Sunday Times that he once smooched the “Work B****” singer while playing the aforementioned game during their youth. However, the validity of this statement was recently called into question.
“Britney was a sweetheart. She lived right above me, the girl next door. The little girl I used to play basketball and spin the bottle with,” Gosling said of his former co-star. However, the actor said he really hasn’t stayed in touch with Spears over the years.“I mean, sometimes you are at the same event, but it’s a lot like I imagine what it’s like to run into someone from elementary school,” he explained.
During her recent appearance on Ellen to promote her upcoming Las Vegas residency, Britney Spears revealed the truth behind that spin the bottle story. Although she admitted to playing the game with Gosling, apparently the object in question never landed on the actor. Insert shattered fantasies here.
“I did that, but I didn’t kiss him though. The only person I kissed was Justin [Timberlake]. It never landed on him. No, it wasn’t just me and [Gosling],” the singer explained.
“So he would play spin the bottle and then you would just not kiss him? He’s a liar. He’s good looking but he’s a liar, that Ryan Gosling,” DeGeneres joked.
Britney Spears also opened up about the songs on her recently-released album Britney Jean. Since the singer went through a lot of personal turmoil before the release of her last batch of tunes, a lot of that stuff found its way onto her most recent musical effort.
“I think it’s healthy. I think if you’re ready to share that with the world, personal things like that, I think it’s very therapeutic and good for you to do that,” Spears dished.
Unfortunately for the singer, not everyone feels this material is up to snuff with her previous endeavors. Britney Jean currently has a Metacritic score of 50, indicating that not everyone on the planet feels the album is worth their disposable cash.
“This album continues the striptease of Britney’s career. But behind each discarded veil there is just another veil, an insubstantial gauze masking teams of (presumably unphotogenic) producers, writers, stylists and sloganeers,” The Telegraph explained in its recent review of the singer’s latest record.
Are you disappointed that Britney Spears and Ryan Gosling never locked lips?
